our school history

Grey Street Primary School has a long history in Traralgon.

On the current site, the school was built in 1912 and recently celebrated a centenary of learning. We are the oldest primary school in Traralgon.

In 2013 we received a local history grant for the purposes of digitising and managing our collection of photographs and documents and for the purposes of publishing a school history.

Some of the traditional school building still exists and is visible from Grey Street. Grey Street has been the school of many famous people over time, none more famous that Sir Macfarlane Burnet who attended in his primary years. You can find out more about the school's history from the Traralgon & District Historical Society website.

We are proud of our traditions of being at the forefront of education in Traralgon and will continue that legacy to provide a quality education.
